Windows 10 Bluetooth to LG Soundbar not working

Windows 10 PC will no longer connect to my LG Soundbar via bluetooth. They pair okay, but the LG speaker does not show up in the list of available speaker output devices.

I have tried removing the LG bluetooth device and then reconnecting to it, but it made no difference.

Other audio source devices, eg, ipod, connect, and work correctly with the LG soundbar via Bluetooth.

Has something changed in Windows that is now stopping this connection working? It stopped working about 3 months ago I think.

Any ideas

Remove the device. Open Command Prompt as admin.

Run this command :

reg add HKLM\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Bluetooth\Audio\AVRCP\CT /v DisableAbsoluteVolume /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f

Add the device again and now you can play.

Add the device again and now you can play.

Worked for me on 2 Windows 10 laptops and an LG Micro (2010!). Had to reboot after the registry edit and had to reset advnaced sound properties in Windows Sounds on one of them (It would play Youtube ads through Bluletooth but the videos would revert to Windows speakers. All working fine now

follow the instructions here to disable the absolute volume function for headphones in the registry.

hope it helps. it was very annoying not being able to use it.

So, I had the same issue with LG SJ9. I read all the comments here and what worked for me was to connect the soundbar to the wifi and update its firmware using the music flow app on my phone. worked like a charm. Thanks!

    Could pair sound bar to laptop but music app would not be heard from sound bar; heard only via laptop speakers.  Could send/receive document files between my cellphone and laptop via bluetooth.  Can play music through sound bar with Groove Music, AVS Sound, and Windows Media Player apps.  Amazon Music and Napster music apps would not play through sound bar.  Amazon Music app was originally downloaded via Google Store.  I downloaded via Microsoft store and music then played via sound bar.  Napster continues to play only through laptop speakers/headphones.  Installed LogicTech external bluetooth receiver to "portable IN" port on sound bar.  Connect laptop to LogicTech BT and can still only play the apps shown from laptop to sound bar as described above....Napster will play via bluetooth to the sound bar; does play via bluetooth headphones using external bluetooth transmitter on laptop plugged into headphones jack.

    LG Sound Bar: Model NB3530A

    Acre Laptop Aspire V5-571P.  64bit. x64-based processor.

    Windows 10. Version 1803.  OS Build 17134.706
