My epson perfection v700 scanner (that allows me to scan photos, negatives, documents, etc.) and that I paid over $800 for) stopped working with teh latest update two days ago. I've downloaded a new driver and other software from Epson and it doesn't work. Can I uninstall this update? I like my scanner a whole lot more than I like Windows.

Ditto re the software updater - had to manually run it to get it to update - and software listed is under "Other useful software". Considering how long I've had this printer and never installed this useful software, one would argue it's not that useful ;-)
Chris, thanks SO MUCH for your observation that it only locks up when you go outside the Epson Scan window. I'm able to scan again so long as I stay entirely within Epson Scan. It's annoying but so much better than one scan per reboot!

David, the next step to try is to run Epson Scan as administrator. It doesn't work for everyone, but it has completely solved the problem for me and Epson Scan now runs normally. Right click Epson Scan/run as administrator. Or to do so permanently without requiring the right click every time, right click/properties/shortcut/advanced/run as administrator/OK.

By the way, if Epson scan ever does freeze, use task manager to close Epson scan, turn off the scanner, turn off the power of the scanner from the wall or unplug at the back. After a few seconds turn on the scanner again and after it has initialised relaunch Epson scan. This way you can avoid a reboot. I have not had any more crashes with Epson Scan since running as administrator.

My Dell scanner also stopped working since the 5-20-18 Windows 10 update. So, the problem is with the Windows driver.
I noticed that the driver file usbscan.sys was changed on 5-20-18.
Could Microsoft please rollback this single file or provide a download link to the original file?
