I agree with SGrunks You can use the windows scan program if you have to. FYI
Epson scanner will not work with latest windows 10 update
My epson perfection v700 scanner (that allows me to scan photos, negatives, documents, etc.) and that I paid over $800 for) stopped working with teh latest update two days ago. I've downloaded a new driver and other software from Epson and it doesn't work. Can I uninstall this update? I like my scanner a whole lot more than I like Windows.

2019-02-25T05:36:03+00:00 gerrydog65 - that is right, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the scanner and it works ok with other scan software, such as MS's limited offering, but the Epson-provided software promises to do a very flexible and good job - and it did just that prior to the 1803 Windows update. Grrrrr!

2019-02-25T09:42:39+00:00 I experience the same problem with my Epson V330 scanner in Windows 10 - if I change focus to another window, Epson Scan freezes when I try to return. Then I have to end the task in Task Manager and replug the USB interface.
I have not tried any of the suggestions offered here, but I find that I can still use Epson Scan if I am careful. Here is what I do.
- If I switch to another application, e.g. by clicking in another window, I can return to Epson Scan by clicking either the Scan button or the Preview button, and not anywhere else in the Epson Scan window. Epson Scan then continues to work.
- I never minimize the Epson Scan window. Rather than do that I close and restart it when I are ready to return.
This isn't a fix but a limp-along. It works for me, so I offer it here.

2019-02-25T17:03:56+00:00 I have spent many hours trying to get Epson's ancient scanning software to work properly.
Does the word "ancient" provide a clue as to what the problem might be?
