My epson perfection v700 scanner (that allows me to scan photos, negatives, documents, etc.) and that I paid over $800 for) stopped working with teh latest update two days ago. I've downloaded a new driver and other software from Epson and it doesn't work. Can I uninstall this update? I like my scanner a whole lot more than I like Windows.

I concur - just opened Epson scanner without admin mode just now and it scanned fine.

I have an EcoTank Epson L355 - same scan symptoms.

After a (epson) scan, a window would disappeared off-screen (behind the start menu) and would not return.

Epson Scan has to be killed with task manager.

Uninstalled all Epson software, rebooted, reinstalled latest drivers - did not help.

Rolling back a windows update... is this even a solution in this day of exploits?

Been waiting for a while for Epson to fix.

Been using NAPS2 (Not Another PDF Scanner 2) - not as customisable as Epson Scan.

NAPS2 is great for scripted / bulk scans.

Tried the Run As Admin - worked for a few scans, then broke when I rest Scan to default.

I fixed my issue by installing the Windows version of the driver vs going to the Epson site. I had an issue where the auto document feeder (ADF) was not working.   You can install the windows version by going to Printer & Scanners, Select add a printer or scanner and let windows locate the device and install its driver.

I have been in contact with Epson on this issue on my V600.  Their latest fix i received today was to run a small utility to remove the Epson driver and clear registry entries.  They then have you delete temp files, etc and reinstall. While the fix only partly works, it is better than before.  It does not lock up anymore.  If you minimize the window it will go down to a small bar of some type that can't be brought back up.  but you can close it without killing the process.  So my rule is now to not minimize it!!

I am sure Epson will send anyone the utility and instructions if needed.  I did install the V600 driver off of the European Epson website (I am in the US).  It seems to have a small update which seemed to eliminate the freezing.

Here is the utility and instructions I got From Epson.

Have read all 6 pages tonight and I have either tried it all or have tried the fixes tonight and nothing worked. Hoping to get a fix soon as I have a ticket logged with Espon and apparently it has gone to tier 3 support at their office in Sydney.
