USB was the first thing I did, then did a safe boot, also opened dos under admin and ran it and ran it also from windows as admid.
The cd install fails at around %28, the downloaded drivers fail, the downloaded complete install fails at around %56, I called Epson and the best I got was a CS reading obvious solutions from the internet.
The FULL software install caused random reboot w/o error messages so I have to keep recovering the os from my last restore point, that was day 1 from 11 am to 7 then till 4am trying everything I know
Day 2 I connected printer wireless and it appeared on my "NETWORKS" but device status reports NO drivers, again CS at Epson read me solutions from the internet ( losing telephone connection at least 3 times) and manually adding the device also failed and since my business was NOW being harmed I popped in the printer to other computers and the ONLY computer it worked on was a 1990's XP running pc but this is un-acceptable.
Another note - last night I tried to install Microsoft drivers for the printer and even downloaded the list of the most recent MS drivers and the found MS doesn't even have the wf-4740 pro printer drivers for windows 10 available, I think the closest one was workforce 4373 which didn't work.
Epsons response to a direct usb connect to my OLDEST computer running XP was "We don't support XP". Needless to say 35 years of love went down the tubes rather rapidly.
I never thought I would have to BUY a new computer possibly to make a PRINTER work properly - don't know if I will live with running a separate computer to print just to satisfy my Epson addition for too long.
Any suggestions would be nice, and I appreciate it
