"Installed" fonts not showing up in Windows Fonts folder

Hi, Ulf. I was able to resolve my problem at last.

I discovered that there were two fonts in my system, identical, with two different names. I believe one was a system font and the other was something I downloaded from daFont--eurostyle was one, and the other name I don't recall. I couldn't for the life of me find eurostyle in inDesign, only illustrator. So I added the typestyle to my adobe library from illustrator and was able to apply the style in inDesign. After that, I could access the font. Strange solution, but that's my workaround. 

Suggest you look at your fonts to see if there is another with the same appearance but different name causing a conflict.

I'm not sure if someone finally figured out how to correct this issue and if you're still trying to figure this out - But when running Windows 10 you must add a few extra steps to install fonts (for all users) in order to use those fonts in certain programs. Steps are as follows:

• Download Font 
• Open Downloaded Font Folder 
• Use the Extract Option
• Select Extract Location 
• Open Extracted Font Folder 
• RIGHT Click On Font File 
• Click Install For All Users

Fonts will now be available across all programs. 

STEP ONE - Download Font File and Open Downloads Folder To Access The File 

Step Two  - Open Font Folder And Select Extract All 

Step Three - Choose Extraction Location 

Step Four - Find & Open New Extracted Font Folder 

Step Five - Select & Right Click On True Type Font File (Or Open Type Font) And Select "Install For All Users" 

Fonts should now be installed across all programs - make sure to close out the program (if open during font installation) and restart the program. Search for freshly installed fonts to make sure they are available and installed correctly.

I have a solution for anyone who had the issue I had (and tried every single one of these solutions with no success).

I downloaded a font called Jeebz which worked perfectly fine on my Mac. Since swapping over to Windows for work, I needed that font on this computer also. It contains two weights: Jeebz-Regular and Jeebz-Bold. Whichever one I installed first is the one that showed up in my Fonts folder and worked normally. I literally tried every single thing everyone here suggested but nothing worked. They were technically both installed but one was hidden. I assumed that maybe Windows was lumping them together under the same name, so I downloaded FontForge in order to rename one of the fonts. I renamed the bold one 'Jeebiez' and left the regular one 'Jeebz-Regular'. Both of them now show up! 

It's definitely not a long term solution, especially if you have loads of fonts that are hidden, but it's a bandaid fix for now until Microsoft sorts it out (if ever). Kind of makes me wonder if I should have left Apple...

This seems to be exactly what's happening on my work PC. I've installed a font with 21 typefaces, yet only one or two will show up at a time. They show as installed via control panel > fonts, and they're in the registry, but they will not work. I've wasted so much time trying to fix this, and now I'm mid-design with fonts that will no longer work. Very frustrating. I posted to Adobe last time this happened and didn't get a solution. 

I've tried every fix in this thread, and others, but I still cannot get this font installed. 

When you used FontForge what were the steps you took exactly? Which field did you edit? I would imagine you'd have to reinstall the fonts after editing? I tried messing with this months ago, the last time I went through this nightmare, but I never got it working.
