"Installed" fonts not showing up in Windows Fonts folder

Hi guys,

Unfortunately, none of the previous answers solves my problem.

I try to install fonts. According to Windows that also works but I cannot see the installed fonts in the Windows Fonts folder and neither do they show up in Illustrator.

When I copy a font file into the Windows Fonts folder it says "The "xxxxxx" font is already installed. Do you want to replace it?" - I click yes, but still - the font does not show.

It's not a problem of the font file as it was working previously. Same happens to hundreds of other fonts. Says they are installed but they don't show and they are not selectable in other applications.

Thanks for your help!

    Hi Everyone,

Not sure if this was mentioned as I don't have time to go through every post. What worked for me...

Copy/paste fonts to your (users) desktop - right click font file, and select - install for all users (basically install as admin).

Option should be directly under regular Install, but with badge in front showing administrator. You may need to type in password, but I didn't have to.

    Hope that helps!

    Hi Paul,

Thanks for your effort. I use Windows 10 Pro, Version 1803, Build 17134.648

Of course, I think all of us tried all those things and many many more several times in all kind of combinations ....

But now. I think I've found a solution. Not exactly sure yet why it worked but I'm working on a script that seems to solve the issue, at least in my case.

I try to have it ready within the next days and hopefully, it releases many of us from this endless pain. Makes me sick when I think of how many hours I spent on this ****.

And if anybody from Microsoft ever visits their forum and sees this post: Shame on you, this was my worst "customer" treatment I ever experienced! In case my solution will work for all remaining victims, it took us 6 months of continuous solution suggestion efforts by so many people and below every post, you ask "Did this solve your issue?" - f*** you

I also have the same issue, upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10 today and all my fonts are missing and when I try to install them to use in Illustrator for instance they won't show up - it seems like no TrueType font shows up when I install it. Really need help with this!
