"Installed" fonts not showing up in Windows Fonts folder

Hi guys,

Unfortunately, none of the previous answers solves my problem.

I try to install fonts. According to Windows that also works but I cannot see the installed fonts in the Windows Fonts folder and neither do they show up in Illustrator. 

When I copy a font file into the Windows Fonts folder it says "The "xxxxxx" font is already installed. Do you want to replace it?" - I click yes, but still - the font does not show.

It's not a problem of the font file as it was working previously. Same happens to hundreds of other fonts. Says they are installed but they don't show and they are not selectable in other applications.

    That's not an option if it's not an Adobe font. I'm trying to get a bunch of .ttf files working. Adobe fonts mostly work fine for me, though I did have one called Balboa lose most of it's typefaces. No solution when I posted to the Adobe forum. I gave up on that one and downloaded the files, and that worked... If it's not one thing it's the other I guess.

    Right click font and select "Install for all users" even if you are the only user.  Does this fix it?

    This is a bit later in 2019 (July).

    What finally worked for me installing Type 1 fonts from my Windows 7 on my new Windows 10 machine, was:

    1. Creating a new Fonts folder into which I copied my old Type 1 fonts.
    2. Go one by one right-clicking the *.PFM files and selecting "Install for all users" (not just "Install").

    Hi everyone in hell (like me).

    I read all of it and tried almost everything, only skipped third-party softwares, still no success.

    My problem is also while installing the font family, the italics and such dont show up anywhere, but they say it's installed. Only 3 out of 14 fonts of the same family show up. I'm also a graphic desginer and i've lost so much time trying to figure this out. The promt thing didn't work, reinstalling things didn't work.

    Please, help.
