"Installed" fonts not showing up in Windows Fonts folder

Hi guys,

Unfortunately, none of the previous answers solves my problem.

I try to install fonts. According to Windows that also works but I cannot see the installed fonts in the Windows Fonts folder and neither do they show up in Illustrator. 

When I copy a font file into the Windows Fonts folder it says "The "xxxxxx" font is already installed. Do you want to replace it?" - I click yes, but still - the font does not show.

It's not a problem of the font file as it was working previously. Same happens to hundreds of other fonts. Says they are installed but they don't show and they are not selectable in other applications.

    VKinSK, Thanks for the effort, but it did not work for me. I have tried the 2013 Writer (Kingsoft) only as well as the latest version to no avail. The fonts are there, but the previews are still square block and some of the fonts defaults to Times New Roman or Tahoma, and some of the fonts are nowhere to be found.  Somehow Paint.net also have issues now - cannot say it happend with your suggestion. On a previous comment, I got it fixed, but with the next Office (or Wondows) update, all were gone again.

    MICROSOFT - DO YOU CARE???? Or are you to big a company to really CARE?  Bill Gates, please come back.

    Hi guys. Thanks for all your solution recommendations. And happy for the few it worked.

    I decided to format and reinstall windows 10. To my surprise, the issue further exists. Really can't understand how this is possible that probably most people don't have this issue and we do.

    Any solution yet? I tried to copy the Fonts folder inside the Windows folder to a new folder using the CMD commands and all my old fonts (back when I was using Win7) showed up, there are around 350 of which Windows 10 only displays 80 in all my programs. Then I tried to copy the 350 fonts of this new folder to the Fonts folder inside Windows folder and this did nothing, everything seems to be the same. I had noticed that this only happens with fonts I had installed before upgrading to Windows 10 since the new fonts I download installs without any problem. Do you think if it's a good idea to delete Fonts folder inside Windows folder and then copy the folder with all the fonts I made before in Windows folder? Or it will crash my PC? 

    PS. Strangely enough, Settings app does show all the fonts... and I managed to reinstall some fonts by uninstalling them as you said before, but some fonts I had before came atomatically within Office and Adobe installations... Maybe it's time to go back to Win7...
