For some reason, my onedrive.exe program gets deleted after a day from the %appdata%\local\microsoft\onedrive folder.
I have uninstalled OneDrive and then reinstalled it. The program works for a day, but then the following day I notice that the OneDrive icon is not in my taskbar (i.e. OneDrive stopped running) and then when I go to launch the program, it says it can't fine OneDrive. I navigate to the folder (noted above) and the OneDrive.exe file is no longer there.
This is really strange.

I had been issue free for about a week or two, then all of a sudden OneDrive suddenly disappeared again and has since been causing problems... I'm disappointed that Microsoft hasn't resolved this after having such a long time, especially seeing as it completely breaks the ease of use of OneDrive...
25 Jun 2018 I've been fighting this for the past approximately 3 weeks. Finally, three days ago, I used the "uninstall" option from the start menu. then I used a registry cleaner (PC Tune UP from Large Software), rebooted and ran the freestanding install kit OneDriveSetup.exe 18.25.204.9
So far, so good...

While I recognize this remains an ongoing issue, I have found the following is the easiest as well as the longest lasting fix of all that I have read up on.
When you notice your Microsoft OneDrive shortcut is missing, realize your OneDrive has stopped syncing - no longer loads with windows or you get a missing error when you click on your folder, follow these instructions.
Make sure you can view hidden files.
Go to C :
Go to Users
Go to your user profile
Go to AppData
Go to Local
Go to Microsoft
Go to OneDrive
Go to the folder with the most recent build.
Final the OneDriveSetup.exe file and double click - run it right from this location.
(Do not remove or do anything your existing OneDrive)
When I do this it will go through a quick install. No data is lost this way and it works perfectly as though nothing ever happened afterward. It also avoids you needing to uninstall or do anything else.
Note -
This is the only fix I have been able to find. I do have to point out that any ideas to use uninstall and reinstall most likely will not work. When I was looking into this, I even went to the extent of formatting my entire pc and doing a full reinstall of my windows. (I allowed the new Windows 10 install to load the most recent version automatically.) This lasted about a week before it went back to disconnecting.
As everyone else has said, this is terrible that we are forced to do research like this and they need to find out the issue and fix it! Especially considering this is a paid service.
P.S. I did find the use of Microsoft Store App version and website version remain unaffected. I would use the Store App, however, it is very unfriendly when it comes to cutting-pasting and moving things around which I like to do with the PC Exe version of Onedrive.

Problem has been impacting me for weeks - think it may be related to a Window Fall Creator 1803 upgrade.
I have installed from OneDrive 18.111.0603.0004 and the problem still recurs.
It sure would be nice to get some Microsoft help for a product I'm paying for with my Office subscription
Just in case anyone is wondering, I used a new Windows 10 Pro Build 1803 ISO to perform a fresh Windows 10 installation. This issue has returned within a 2 day period. I am relegated to copying the OneDrive.exe file back to my AppData OneDrive local folder again.
This is ridiculous.
