Why does my Onedrive.exe file disappear from the %appdata%\local\microsoft\onedrive folder?

For some reason, my onedrive.exe program gets deleted after a day from the %appdata%\local\microsoft\onedrive folder.

I have uninstalled OneDrive and then reinstalled it.  The program works for a day, but then the following day I notice that the OneDrive icon is not in my taskbar (i.e. OneDrive stopped running) and then when I go to launch the program, it says it can't fine OneDrive.  I navigate to the folder (noted above) and the OneDrive.exe file is no longer there.  

This is really strange.

Can someone help?

    My main PC has an SSD main drive and a spinner data drive and I have no issues. It is not related.

    Did you execute the latest OneDrive setup file under 

    C:\Users\xxxxxxxxxxxx\AppData\Local\Microsoft\OneDrive

    The latest one on my PC is 18.151.0729.0006 and not the 131 stream.

    In the latest subdirectory Windows created in the OneDrive folder I found the exe file you reference.  (The older 131 file is in several other older subfolders, too). Rather than doing a completed uninstall/reinstall I executed the 151 file and, so far (24 hours), so good.  I'll update in a few days.  Thanks for your suggestion.

    For me, this method only works until the next update is pushed and OneDrive fails to start again .This is the point of this entire thread; upon update, the OneDrive app does not start UNTIL you execute "OneDriveSetup.exe" which puts the current version of "OneDrive.exe" back in the %AppData%\Local\Microsoft\OneDrive folder.

    I'm still holding my breath on two of my devices. My daily use desktop and tablet have maintained the OneDrive, but my laptop, which hasn't been used for several weeks, lost OneDrive. I fired the laptop up yesterday and noticed that it's gone. I did the Malwarebytes exclusion on all three the same day when I restored my desktop and tablet. Something happened during the time I last used the laptop and yesterday? One of those updates must have corrected something. Go figure.

    Did you try uninstalling and rebooting before installing with the new version? I only did that on my main PC, but all others just worked when I installed with the setup file.
