Why does my Onedrive.exe file disappear from the %appdata%\local\microsoft\onedrive folder?

For some reason, my onedrive.exe program gets deleted after a day from the %appdata%\local\microsoft\onedrive folder.

I have uninstalled OneDrive and then reinstalled it.  The program works for a day, but then the following day I notice that the OneDrive icon is not in my taskbar (i.e. OneDrive stopped running) and then when I go to launch the program, it says it can't fine OneDrive.  I navigate to the folder (noted above) and the OneDrive.exe file is no longer there.  

This is really strange.

Can someone help?

    I have the same recurring problem. When I do a search for the onedrive.exe file I always find it in a Onedrive subfolder. I move it back into the Onedrive folder and run it. All seems well until the next time Windows decides to move it again. Very frustrating, but you can tell when the Onedrive desktop icon changes it's time to go find the exe file again.  I NEVER have this problem with Dropbox.

    I no longer have the issue, all 5 computers' OneDrive are stable and have been for some time. They have the latest Windows updates as well as Malwarebytes updates. I have no exclusions set because I did not want to put a bandaid on the issue, especially since we did not know if it worked or not.

    I strongly suggest making sure your Windows is fully updated, as well as you antivirus and if you have Malwarebytes, then that as well.

    My Windows 10 and MalWarebytes are both up to date on 3 computers. The one I keep having trouble with is a new (9 month old) Dell Inspiron that has Windows 10 installed on a 128GB SSD C: drive and most programs and data on the D: drive. The other 2 laptops are older Dell Latitudes, one with a 256GB SSD C: drive (only one drive), the other has a 500GB 7200 RPM C: drive (only one drive). I wonder if the 2 drive config is the gremlin? Another older Windows 7 Dell Latitude has no problems nor does a 3 year old Windows 10 HP Pavillion (one drive).

    My main PC has an SSD main drive and a spinner data drive and I have no issues. It is not related.

    Did you execute the latest OneDrive setup file under 

    C:\Users\xxxxxxxxxxxx\AppData\Local\Microsoft\OneDrive

    The latest one on my PC is 18.151.0729.0006 and not the 131 stream.
