Why does my Onedrive.exe file disappear from the %appdata%\local\microsoft\onedrive folder?

For some reason, my onedrive.exe program gets deleted after a day from the %appdata%\local\microsoft\onedrive folder.

I have uninstalled OneDrive and then reinstalled it.  The program works for a day, but then the following day I notice that the OneDrive icon is not in my taskbar (i.e. OneDrive stopped running) and then when I go to launch the program, it says it can't fine OneDrive.  I navigate to the folder (noted above) and the OneDrive.exe file is no longer there.

This is really strange.

Can someone help?

I have been okay for a while now.  I am on build 18.111.0603.0006.  In Malwarebytes I excluded the following folder:

    C:\Users*USERNAME*\AppData\Local\Microsoft\OneDrive

I've also put that exclusion in, but I hate excluding and entire folder. But... it'll help narrow it down I guess.

Just need MS to release another update for OneDrive now to see if it's helped.

    Cheers,

    Nick

OneDrive 18.131.0701.0004 was pushed to me today (7-25). The OneDrive icon disappeared. I was able to finish the install by executing OneDriveSetup.exe.

BTW, I had added the folder path, "C:\Users\xxxxxx\AppData\Local\Microsoft\OneDrive" to Malwarebytes Exclusions, but the OneDrive update failed anyway.

I'm still on 18.111.0603.0006_1 and so far all is well. Will be watching. Shouldn't have to always keep one eye on the sync icon, though. Thought they would have come up with something by now.

After re-installing OneDrive for the second time in two days a couple of weeks ago, so far everything’s been OK.

However as I’m also running Malwarebytes, I have done as suggested and since excluded the folder C:\users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\OneDrive to be on the safe side, it doesn’t appear to do any harm exluding it in the Malwarebytes App.
