Why does my Onedrive.exe file disappear from the %appdata%\local\microsoft\onedrive folder?

For some reason, my onedrive.exe program gets deleted after a day from the %appdata%\local\microsoft\onedrive folder.

I have uninstalled OneDrive and then reinstalled it.  The program works for a day, but then the following day I notice that the OneDrive icon is not in my taskbar (i.e. OneDrive stopped running) and then when I go to launch the program, it says it can't fine OneDrive.  I navigate to the folder (noted above) and the OneDrive.exe file is no longer there.

This is really strange.

Can someone help?

I have the exact same issue. Even did a complete fresh install of Windows 10 last Saturday, at first it looked fine but after two days of operating without issues OneDrive disappeared again.

I've got the same symptoms that others users have reported, a new Onedrive binary found a version subfolder but not in the main folder. Manually installed version 18.111.0603.0004, will see how that goes.

When you do the manual installation, make sure that you fully uninstalled the existing version and then do a full shutdown and restart. Make sure the directory referenced in the question is fully empty before installing.

This is what i did and it has been working for one week.

I strongly recommend uninstalling, running a registry cleaner, rebooting and then running the stand alone installer. I did this back on 6/25 and have not had the problem return since..

I, too, have the same problem. I think it is related One Drive updates as OneDrive.exe disappears after an update has been pushed. These updates seem to happen every few days/weeks which coincide with the disappearance of OneDrive.exe. It seems to me the update process is broken. BTW I have version 18.111.0603.0006. It was released on 7/9/18 and today, 7/10/18, OneDrive.exe was missing.

I've been stable since 6/25 (well, 6/23 actually).. Strongly recommend: uninstall, run a registry cleaner, reboot, then run the standalone install. In that order. I'm convinced there's a registry key involved. As I said, mine's been stable for a few weeks now. FWIW, the standalone install (https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?LinkId=248256) is still at 18.025.0204.009
