Why does my Onedrive.exe file disappear from the %appdata%\local\microsoft\onedrive folder?

For some reason, my onedrive.exe program gets deleted after a day from the %appdata%\local\microsoft\onedrive folder.

I have uninstalled OneDrive and then reinstalled it.  The program works for a day, but then the following day I notice that the OneDrive icon is not in my taskbar (i.e. OneDrive stopped running) and then when I go to launch the program, it says it can't fine OneDrive.  I navigate to the folder (noted above) and the OneDrive.exe file is no longer there.  

This is really strange.

Can someone help?

    I updated my case with MS referring to MalwareBytes and got the following:

    **"**Sorry for the late response. Yes, that is something that we are already aware of and is looking into. Apologies again for any inconvenience this may have brought you. "

    So MS is also investigating this,  at some level at least.

    I did this without rolling anything back or doing anything else. Just excluded the entire folder so that when the installer components run from that folder, nothing should block the final update process.

    You may be right, but I like to reproduce EXACTLY the scenario that fails.  For all we know, it's not the OneDrive installer exec that MalwareBytes is blocking but some other accompanying process/action.

    I am able to manually exec the OneDrive installer, so why isn't MalwareBytes messing with that manual action too?

    I have just added the exclusion to mine and will report back if my one drive has continued issues. Seems like this thread is making progress and I agree Malwarebytes seems to be the only common factor with everyone.

    To test exclusion settings, you may first need to roll back a Windows Update or go back to a restore point before the OneDrive update.

    Why in the world would you need to do that? If you exclude the entire OneDrive folder under AppData\Local in MalwareBytes the OneDrive installer is in the folder and will install without being affected. There is no need to restore Windows.
