Updating to Windows 10 version 1803 freezes on the Windows logo upon reboot

Hi there Seth-N-Michel it is frustrating when a simple process of Updating a system fails for unknown reason. Would appear from reading various posts that a fair number of customers have had problem with the latest Win Update 1803?

My impression is that those who have had issues with the latest Win 10 Update with Version 1803 must have had some internal issues with their systems, either software or hardware configuration/conflict, preventing a straightforward Win 10 Update to the latest Version 1803 of Win 10?

My build: ASUS P6T Deluxe V2, Win 10 Version 1603, Boot Drive Crucial MX 500 1TB, Memory: 24GB G Skill DDR.3, Storage Seagate 4TB 

It would be worthwhile to try the Update method I used and see it works for you?

I have not had a single issue updating to any build other than 1803. The suggested 'fix' of using the repair tool finds the same issue each and every time it is run, "there was a corruption of the install files that has been fixed". This does not fix or correct the issue at all. I have updated 5 other PCs at home and they all have the same issue with freezing on reboot during the update process. I have to manually disable the update each and every week, since there is no way to turn off updates like in previous builds.

Microsoft needs to fix the issue with the installer, this is *not* a simple hardware issue, considering that 5 out of 7 PCs at home with the only ones that update without issues are Surface Tablet PCs.

If you get to this point then the one thing that has worked for me and a few others is to disable VT-d on the motherboard. Until 1803 I never had an issue and this setting helps accelerate VMware significantly. I now have the option permanently disabled in my Bios because not only did it fail the install - it also fails boot now that I have successfully upgraded.

I too have the Asus P6T

I disabled VT-d to no avail on the reboot during updating. I left it disabled for several days attempting to get the update to work without success. After having other hardware issues, I turned VT-d back on and the hardware issues have since stopped. I am still unable to successfully run the 1803 update without it locking up during the reboot process.

Wow. Microsoft HAS to figure this out. Is there any microsoft person monitoring this?

Hi there Tiran Dagan you are lucky to have suceeded in Updating your ASUS P6T Deluxe to the latest 1803 Version of Win 10!

Just curious to know if the difficulty with the latest Update is a specific problem with those members using the P6T Deluse motherboard, as there  have been other memebers with similar issues with freezing during their updates.

The fact that you have to disable the VT-d in the BIOS of your board b4 you can succesfully boot after the Update would suggest that the problem is the P6T Deluxe board rather than the 1803 Win Update? If this is the case then those still running this board should contact ASUS for a possible software fix? I understand this particular board came out about 8years or so ago, 2008? and I was given to understand that there were a few issues with it prompting ASUS to produce a replacement board, the ASUS P6T Deluxe V2 model, which is still available to day?

Anyway, so those still running the P6T Deluxe ( not the P6T Deluxe V2 ) should read your post and follow what you did to your board to be able to install and run the Win 10 Update Version 1803
