Windows 10 1803 Update Error 0xc1900101

Hi Guys,

I turned off Windows 10 updates for the maximum 35 days (i think it is), and then

let windows do its special update recently. This let me get on with things 

without Update 1803 causing problems.

After the 35 days, It has now successfully finished update 1803, and installed every update since.

So, Microsoft has now found the issue and fixed it, but probably should have tested it a bit more before release.

Let's hope that it's all smooth sailing from now on.

I like your enthusiasm but think it may have just been the luck of the draw and/or, a driver or something else that got updated which helped it to get over the hump... Just tried updating several times last night with a resound fail each and every time.

It's been proven time and time again there's no "one size that fits all" in regards to fixes for these errors, there is way too many variables involved.

And MS may have fixed something or some things but I'll guarantee it won't be a resolve for the majority experiencing issues installing this update.

Do you think you’re the first person to com on this site and threaten to switch to Mac/Linux?  There’s one of you in almost every thread.  And I’ll invite you to please:  go ahead.  Switch to Linux on your desktops.  And stink up *their* forums with your whining from now on.

That makes me ask myself two questions:

1. In your opinion, what should be the function of answers.microsoft.com? Only answers about how can be Windows so wonderful and why are the others OS pure **** in comparison?
2. If you don't care about the problems that the users of W10 are having with W10, why the hell do you enter in this thread and read the posts?

Translation:  People adding entries to this forum where they make hollow threats to switch OSes has helped you actually solve a problem. 

Wow.  You must be good!

Myself?  I had to use posts where more professional techs shared actual experiences and information related to the topic, and didn't spend time simply whining, naively thinking higher-ups at Microsoft are going to see these empty threats and scramble to re-write the OS for us.  And my particular problem is solved.

You see, Microsoft makes an OS that works on an inordinate combination of components out there that could be cobbled together to make what we call a PC.  There are almost no two alike.  But yet, 99% of the time, W10 somehow works.  But the solution to what seem like identical problems may be solved in many different ways for the many differing configurations that exist.  Here is where we help each other identify them.

That age-old threat of "switching to Mac" shows real incompetence, and has become a tired cliche around here.  It's a waste of time and space.  So yeah, I call it out.

Any other questions are you're "asking yourself" that I could take a shot at?
