Glad you are back up and running smooth. It is a shame that an OS update from MS has caused so much grief. I am retired and had the time to spend on getting the issue resolved. But others do not have that luxury and were likely stressed to get the fix on a timely basis. It was an aggravation that none of us needed.

I am having this problem too - is MS going to fix it - I am nervous about a complete reinstall
Reinstalling did not work for me. The update still shows as downloading at 0% after almost a week of tries. MS really needs to either roll this one back or fix it.
I used the response from JCAyer's post on May 22, 2018 and it solved my problem. v.1803 upgrade.
When I say "upgrade" to v.1803, it really is a process of downloading a complete version of Windows 10 from MS, then installing it on my computer. It took nearly 5 hours, start to finish. Kept all my files and applications with no issues. Suggest you try that approach. Once the download completes, the Windows installer takes over and essentially overwrites the old OS.
