Windows 10 Cumulative Update KB4103721 Version 1803

This update has some serious issues, specifically. Do NOT install this update after updating to Windows 10 version 1803. It will prevent your computer from booting up. I am stuck on the spinning circle for a long time. I have to use a Windows 10 USB to boot into the Troubleshooting and use Command Prompt to boot into safe mode. Please fix this update!

I discovered that if you installed a program from Iobit (like Driver Booster, for example) it creates a service called "LiveUpdate" with full name, as I remember, "LiveUpdateSvc".

Even if you remove the program the service will remain and this cause the KB4103721 update to fail to boot Windows after the update.

Uninstall all Iobit programs and remove the service from the administrator command prompt typing "sc delete LiveUpdateSvc" (check it is the correct service name) and then you will be updating Windows without any problem.

I experienced this issue on two computers and this has been the solution.

    Was machen diese Programmierer von Microsoft? Ich empfinde es als eine Frechheit! Mit diesem Update haben Sie auf meiner C-Partition eine neue G-Partition mit 449 MB erstellt, die ich weder löschen, noch den Laufwerksbuchstaben ändern kann, weil diese Funktionen in der Datenträgerverwaltung von Windows nicht verfügbar sind. Das ist mein Notebook und ich verbitte mir, dass igendwelche Möchtegerne darin rumpfuschen und erwarte, dass Microsoft diese Fehler schnellstens ausbügelt!

    Langsam sollten die Windowsnutzer für die Zeit, die Sie mit der Behebung von Schäden, die Microsoft zu Verantworten hat, entschädigt werden.

    Wie kann ich jetzt die von Microsoft-Update erstellte Partition wieder entfernen?

    Ob Microsoft da wirklich helfen kann?

    Thank you!!! This was my exact issue. After disabling Adv. System Care 11 from startup, the install completed after reboot and everything is running as normal. Your post should be at the top of the list.

    Soweit es Utilities IOBIT betrifft, kann ich bei einem zweiten Rechner bestätigen,

    dass es dort beim zweiten Anlauf am 10.05.2018 bei dem Update von KB 4103721

    mit Uninstaller Pro, Driver Booster Pro, Smart Defrag free und Malware Figther free keine Probleme gab.

    Das Update ist ohne Fehler mit diesen Utilities durchgelaufen.
