Windows 10 Cumulative Update KB4103721 Version 1803

This update has some serious issues, specifically. Do NOT install this update after updating to Windows 10 version 1803. It will prevent your computer from booting up. I am stuck on the spinning circle for a long time. I have to use a Windows 10 USB to boot into the Troubleshooting and use Command Prompt to boot into safe mode. Please fix this update!

UPDATE: I have a tutorial on how to fix that:

I discovered that if you installed a program from Iobit (like Driver Booster, for example) it creates a service called "LiveUpdate" with full name, as I remember, "LiveUpdateSvc".

Even if you remove the program the service will remain and this cause the KB4103721 update to fail to boot Windows after the update.

Uninstall all Iobit programs and remove the service from the administrator command prompt typing "sc delete LiveUpdateSvc" (check it is the correct service name) and then you will be updating Windows without any problem.

I experienced this issue on two computers and this has been the solution.

Other people have found that it is not a problem wit the OS but with 3rd party programs.  IoBit ACS for one.

I am tired of people blaming Microsoft because 3rd party software has not been updated to the new core of the OS.

I don't have ACS or other IoBit Software installed. And no, an operating System is called Operating system so it need to make sure that this System is still working with the software it was working before with.

MS need to make sure their updates are compatible with software if it was running before without problems. Not the software publishers are responsible.

Oh i forgot. Then yesterday evening the same happened to the ASUS laptop. Now I knew that it was a systematic error caused by the OS and its faulty updates, as these machines are so different.

This one I dont need every day. So I decided to let it be (locked with spinner) and start searching for answers.....

I have had exactly that problem on TWO quite different machines, one HP Envy i7 Laptop and one Asus i3 Laptop, one with Chrome and Webroot AV the other with Firefox and MS AV. Both with Win10-64 OEM basic.

After the big springupdate, both had trouble of "awakening" after going into sleepmode (closing the lid without power off) som thing that NEVER was a trouble before spring update.

Then my Envy decided to update the spring update, said it was updating and not to turn off the machine, then rebooted by itself and got stuck with the spinning circle. First the HP logo then logo with spinner and then spinner without logo.

After spinning for an hour, i turned it off. Thought it might be a crash caused by a virus (is win10-spring a virus then?) or a combo of all my applications. Mind You that I had plenty of problems with Win10 fall update too, however only compatability problems with applications, NOT any locks.

Ended with that I did a reistallation of the OS. Took me a day so far, and lost all my applications, some of which I am not allowed to reinstall. Who is going to pay for that??!

Why is it that MS uses their customers as unwilling beta-testers and has absolutly no strategy of helping them out of a situation their incompetence put their customers into.

I suggest we for a group and get a law firm........
