    Doesn't work for me.When trying to install the updates short after starting I'm getting the message from Windows Standalon Updater: "The update is not applicable on your computer".

    I was checking this error on: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/3057448/the-update-is-not-applicable-to-your-computer-error-when-you-install-w

    and tried with the Poer-Shell Command "get-Hotfix". This doesn't work either as it always provides me with error message - even for those updates which do show up definitely as successfully installed.

    This happens to whatever update I download and I have downloaded the rigtht update (x64).

    This is a new PC with more or less native/unpatched Windows version 1709 Build 16299.15 (Fall Creators update).

    Any idea why I can't install them?

    Or any idea what I need to install first (e.g. is there even another missing prerequisite?

    I had the same issue; I just wasn't picking the right download.  Make sure it isn't a Server version.

    Thanks again!

    I was able to get my system fully up to date by doing the following:

    1. Download and install Cumulative update KB4088776

    https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=KB4088776

    1. Reboot
    2. Download and install Delta update KB4093112

    https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=KB4093112

    1. Reboot
    2. Run the Windows update

    I was never able to install the Cumulative Update through Windows Update, This was on a fairly fresh Windows installation on a Surface Book 2.  I was able to install it with the standalone installer, however.  See Knowledge Base article and download link.

    Download link is spot on, problem solved FINALLY!!

    Nikdy jsem nedokázal nainstalovat kumulativní aktualizaci prostřednictvím služby Windows Update. Bylo možné na instalaci systému Windows na ploše. 2. Bylo možné instalovat samostatným instalátorem. Viz  článek v Knowledge Basea  odkaz ke stažení.

    Odkaz na stažení je na místě, problém je konečně vyřešen!

    Proč by měli lidé něco stahovat na celou aktualizaci systému Windows se může vykašlat, když nefunguje tak jak má koukejte to opravit nebo službu zakážu vše je jen na obtíž !!! Vydávat aktualizace a ještě nefunkční proč Microsoftu díky tomu neklesnou akcie ???

    Tohle není normální.
