I have not upgraded,i bought this pc with windows 10 on it
So did I; and my updates will not install, no matter what I try. And my other Win10 desktop has NOT had this issue, so it must be something about this desktop that is messed up.

I wonder if the problems are related to changing the product key?
has anyone here not changed the key?
i also had the issue after I upgraded an HP OEM W10 home Edition to W10 professional education.
only after wiping the whole partition and installing a "raw" W10 (the W10 pro key was taken automatically from UEFI) the problem resolved.
before nothing helped, not even manually installing the KB's....
Thanks mate these instructions brought me up to date as of today.
Windows update will probably still be borked the next time an update is available.
I had previous troubles caused by an Xbox live app on Win 10.
The fix involved a registry edit to it. Go figure, I don't have a Xbox.
This is the second month my updates have not installed. Mistake or screw-up? Search the Internet for this issue and you will find lots of examples.
