I thought of the same thing, but being unaware of which small part of any one particular update may be causing the problem, I dare not either. But, after renewing my serivice contract, then going through a long session that seems to have made this old Dell work like new again. (for awhile any way) I still had the same problem. My technician got with a supervisor and discovered that it is a Microsoft issue and they are working to fix the problem. Pass it on. ;-D

Well, after renewing my support contract and going through a 2.5 hour support session, I now have my system removed and reinstalled, clean and many other issues fixed to my satisfaction.....except for the windows store/solitaire problem. After consulting with a supervisor, my technician confirmed that this is a microsoft problem that they are aware of and are working on it. Pass the word.

Has anyone tried to roll back the updates from April 8 2018.  I have two totally seperate computers, lap top and desk top, rinning 8.1.  Both affected in the same way.  Both affected April 8 after updates.  I am not tech savvy enough to know how to undo an update

    Good day everyone,

I also have an Issue installing apps from Microsoft (MS) Store with 3 Dell Windows 8.1 tablets only. Recently, when I try to install an app on each tablet I get the same message after a few seconds that says "Something happened and your purchase can't be completed. Error Code: 0xc03f300d." Note that apps that were installed on the tablets prior to this issue work/run fine. I ran troubleshooter that found no issues and ran wsreset.exe on each tablet and still received the same error message. I even ran a powershell approach that did not fix issue. Also, my Windows 10 ASUS laptop has no issues installing and running apps from MS Store.

    Actions taken:

    1. Set up a new Microsoft Account to test a single windows 8.1 tablet.
    2. Test tablet was reset to factory default settings and windows 8.1 was reinstalled and fully updated. I wanted a clean slate to start from.
    3. Tried to install an MS Store App (Netflix and one other app) and I received the same error message and code 0xc03f300d.
    4. Ran troubleshooter again to try to resolve MS Store issues and no issues were found.
    5. Ran wsreset.exe, followed by restart and received the same error message and code. However, when I reran steps 3 to 5 I did on one occassion receive error code 0xc03f40c8 and then on remaining reruns got the original error code. Total of 4 reruns performed.
    6. Spoke to Microsoft support a few times today - One Tech Support person said that he was not aware of this issue but that he will be bumping this up to have someone look at a fix. Please also note that I was told that Microsoft does not officially support windows 8.1 tablets - as far as I am concerned the tablets work great and are not the issue.

In conclusion, I do believe this is likely a Microsoft Store issue for windows 8.1 users since I had no issues until last week. I hope Microsoft, someone, or even you the reader works out a fix for this issue soon. Good luck!

    Hello,

I tried to do a live chat. Alas there were 53 people waiting in front of me. Hopefully 53 others with the same issue!
