6. Spoke to Microsoft support a few times today - Please also note that I was told that Microsoft does not officially support windows 8.1 tablets - as far as I am concerned the tablets work great and are not the issue.

In conclusion, I do believe this is likely a Microsoft Store issue for windows 8.1 users since I had no issues until last week. I hope Microsoft, someone, or even you the reader works out a fix for this issue soon. Good luck!

 

Microsoft supports the operating system, 8.1. Makes no difference if it is a PC or a tablet. 

Don't let them get away with that excuse.

The current problem is with MS, not your device.

Did t5his solve the problem? No, of course not. We dont have any answers out here for this. All we can do is show a little empathy and understanding amongst ourselves at this point. COME ON MICROSOFT! Step up to the plate. The junk needs cleaned out or cleared up and maybe only you can find it. It seems to be connected to updates. At least it was for me (Windows 8.1 pro) Im not quite ready for windows 10, but I'll learn what I have to, to get a functioning computer/operating system. Don't make me learn BrandX. LOL

I wish I had run across this help thread last night. I unfortunately came across an old query and the tech had replied to several persons to recover their computer . Now because I was having the same difficulty as described in this thread I have a lap top that I can not install any of the apps on. They are all empty shells that have error messages. I caution everyone. DO NOT RECOVER your devices.  I was having difficulties with an Asphalt 8 purchase that started this whole mess. Now I can not recover my apps on my lap top, I can not restore my purchases on another device because X-Box says IAP error. I am very angry. I have spent a lot of money and a very long time on that game. I hope someday it recovers but I am doubtful. No game, lost money and useless lap top. I am Not a Happy Camper Microsoft.

MS... please look into this. ASAP. If the driving force behind the problem and lack of answers actually IS to move us all forward into windows 10, I for one am driven in the opposite direction under such pressures. I wouldn't have thought you would actually do such things, but then I was blindsided by your dropping support for all of your previous operating systems, including my 8.1 pro.  I consider it new enough and myself a good enough customer to deserve better.
