"Up to date" even though I am running version 1507 (RTM build of Windows 10); how to get 1803 (Redstone 4)?

Well without any real help from anyone, I managed to get a legitimately genuine version of Windows 10 installed on my computer... but it is from a DVD so I am running the first released version of the operating system, and I am trying to update to the latest release. When I run Windows Update, I used to see "Feature Update to 1803" as an available update, but now I don't see it at all and I know for a fact that I am still running Threshold instead of Redstone.

    That's going to complicate things, that 1803 wants to come in so quick to spoil your plans. Here is WUShowHide to stop it...

    You must catch it trying to come in again. Could be you are too late, though, if it has begun to download. I guess let it do its work - it may be successful this time now that 1607 is in.

    I killed the service (wuauserv) before it could finish preparing the 1803 update... I won't run Windows Update this time and just get the download for 1703.

    OK, good thinking. I'm hoping your version by version approach to 1803 will prep the device drivers for the final plunge.

    Well here I am again to report that 1703 was unsuccessful, but I still think being connected to the internet allowed Windows Update to do downloads in the background, so I disconnected my ethernet and I am trying the upgrade once more.
