"Up to date" even though I am running version 1507 (RTM build of Windows 10); how to get 1803 (Redstone 4)?

Well without any real help from anyone, I managed to get a legitimately genuine version of Windows 10 installed on my computer... but it is from a DVD so I am running the first released version of the operating system, and I am trying to update to the latest release. When I run Windows Update, I used to see "Feature Update to 1803" as an available update, but now I don't see it at all and I know for a fact that I am still running Threshold instead of Redstone.

    If 1803 absolutely won't install, I'd go through the troop in reverse starting with 1709.

    I edited an earlier post to say 1507 should show Backup & Restore in Control Panel, if it isn't in Settings. I saw your edit of a prior post, but we aren't notified of edit's, just the original post.

    So, usually it's best only to edit a post that hasn't been answered yet - as I've just edited this one.

    Personally I think installing, say, version 1607 --> 1709 --> 1803 would be a lot more time-consuming but also more convenient in a process of trial and error, seeing which updates work and where things fail during the upgrade.

    Also, this is actually useful information.~

    Mine looks like his, but MSInfo32 does say the model.

    MSInfo32:  "System Model       Inspiron 3542"

    Wow, you've really got the earliest possible Win 10, 1507. Well, mine made it from Win 8.1 all the way to 1803, but in steps. Here's hoping you do it in one giant leap for mankind, as Armstrong said it.

    Edit: For 1507, Backup & Restore will be in Control Panel.

    Well right now I am getting updates for my BIOS (as it turns out, there is an updated version from over four years ago which I do not have) and my graphics driver (which supports 1803).

    Yes the BIOS and / or Graphics driver could be blocking the current update.
