something went wrong while trying to turn on spatial sound

Hello. 

I have the same issue.

i have a 3 channel dolby atmos soundbar connected to PC HDMI.

I have a 2 separate window installation.  one is main drive run on latest build, other one run on latest fast ring, both have latest intel drivers installed.  

Now I found the fast ring drive have 'Dolby Atmos for theater' under default format bar, and dolby atmos for home theater in spatial sounds.  when I forced to click on dolby atmos for home theater under default format tab,  is show 'format not supported by the device', then try to enable dolby atmos for home theater in spatial sounds,  get the error 'something went wrong while try to tun on spatial sounds.

how to fix this problem?

How is your Dolby Atmos connected to your computer? If it's connected via HDMI, then please follow these steps to properly configure spatial sound for your home theater:

1. On the bottom right-hand corner, right-click the speaker icon and select Playback devices.
2. Select your speaker on the list and then click Properties.
3. Click the Spatial sound tab, then select the Dolby Atmos for headphones from the drop-down options.
4. If you don't have the Dolby Access app yet, the Windows Store will open automatically to download the app.
5. Once the app is installed, click the With my home theater option, then click Continue.
6. Open the Sound settings again by performing Step 1.
7. Under Playback, select your Dolby Atmos speaker, and set it as your default device.
8. On the Dolby Access app, click Configure PC settings, then click the Spatial sound tab.
9. Under the Spatial sound format, select the Dolby Atmos for home theater option, click Apply, then OK.

Once done, try to check if it's working, and then kindly update this thread with the result so I'll be able to assist you further if needed.

If it is not in the list go to Device manager > sound, video, and game controllers > Dolby atmos > right click and click uninstall > remove the dolby device from your PC and restart

I opened sound as u suggested first but when selecting Dolby Atmos in spatial sound option it goes back to none, even if i try to click on Windows Sonic for headphones it goes back to off.

and i cant find Dolby Atmos in Device manager > sound, video, and game controllers >, so what to do?
