No that is not the solution here. were are discussing about 'dolby atmos for home theater', not 'dolbay atmots for heardphone'.  I can confirm when i click on 'dolby atmos for headphone'  it stay and can out put sound, by i'm running a soundbar not headphone.

I do not have AV receiver and my soundbar is connected to HDMI to my screen.   My soundbar does not list in playback, but goes to intel display audio.   I spend months talk microsoft but still end up not solve this issue.

The HDMI from soundbar to screen both end, output only 2 channels.  Most  TV are 2 channel on HDMI, without a receiver.    Also intel display can only output 2 channels.

when I click on 'dolby atmos for home theater' it does not stay, automaticailly to back to 16 bit . same for spatial sounds.

    any suggestions ???

it works when i use other devices(acer monitor, Digital audio HDaudio devices ) but not my headset ( PlatronicsHD500 7.1 surround sound headset).

in Dolbyheadphone V2 is only working thing on settings

i think we can only fix this problem if we use old version Windows 10 like 1511 or 1709

    (TURN OFF uptades method

Control Panel > Administrative Tools, you can access Services.

In the Services window, scroll down to Windows Update and turn off the process.

    like all time, trying 1709.)

i will try and give information again.

I have been trying to find a solution to this for weeks now as well.

Finally got it to work just now by doing the following (which I had never tried before) , suggest you give it a try.

-While connected to my AVR via HDMI. Device manager- Sound video and game controllers - update Intel Audio driver, browse on computer - let me pick from a list - High definition audio device (instead of default intel (r) display audio) - next

After confirming that it's not the recommended driver and install I finally had Atmos back working again!

    Hope this helps!

    I have the same problem.

I installed the old driver for the video card.

I use a PC and a HDMI cable to transfer sound to the receiver.

    nVidia 391.01 was 416.34

    Hello.

I think the problem for my situation is the problem i have an old monitor that is also a TV with 1 regular HDMI and 1 with HDMI/DVI, both dont support arc.  I also dont have receiver.   Soundbar is must connect to arc and TV arc to get sound.    TV manual from websites say TV without arc need connected digital optical cable.

Do you get dolby atmos from receivers?   can the receiver retrive 'dolby atmos for home theater' from windows 10 ?

    any suggestions?
