something went wrong while trying to turn on spatial sound

Please help,

i have Asus ROG GL-553VW and OS build - 17134.165 and i bought Dolby atoms but it's not working. I tried to update my drivers still no effect.

Please help

    For me it was all about the latest Radeon drivers and also setting up bitstreaming within VLC so my HTC could send unmodified data to my reciever/amp.

    Tools

    Prefernces

    Audio

    Output mode = Windows Multimedia Device Output

    Enable passthrough - I think you go for the AC3/DTS one

    Hi guys,

    Dolby Atmos was working fine for me until I updated my AMD Radeon drivers, seems the AMD Audio Driver Version

    10.0.1.10 generates the spatial sound error message in my system. When I reverted to AMD Radeon driver 19.10.08_19H1_WHQL it worked again.

    Btw I couldn't find anything in the Windows Event viewer so troubleshooting took a long time...

    I think you're onto something. The problem coincidentally arose when experimenting with video cards for HDR and the BCG, especially when using Nvidia and less so with Radeon. See if it resumes minister playing with the accordion. Many thanks and best of luck

    I was able to solve the problem by going into Windows device manage, then Sound, Video, and Game Controllers and deleting Nvidia sound drivers. Once you reboot your PC after deleting Nvidia sound drivers Windows will automatically download and install it's own sound drivers and Atmos will work again. Just be sure to use the the manual installation setting (do not use express) when installing newly released Nvidia game ready drivers and uncheck sound drivers or the issue will return.

    Hey guys, I got an answer from the audio team from Microsoft. They said in the latest Windows Insider Build (Fast Ring) they have a potential fix. I updated and so far so good. Sometimes on start up as before it switches to Stereo or 7.1 but I could always go back to Dolby Atmos for Home Theater.

    If you still have a problem, test the newest Insider Build. I will report back if the error will come back with this version.
