OneDrive automatically deleting files from OneDrive folder

The OneDrive forum appears to have been locked, so I am trying this one.

I moved some large files (photos) to my OneDrive folder to share between PCs and left them synchronising.  When I came back to check on their progress, the files had disappeared from the PCs.  Looking at the OneDrive window it shows them being added to Onedrive then mysteriously being removed a few minutes later.  What on earth is going on?    I tried Ctrl & Z to see if it could undo the removal.  The files looked as if they were being restored - but just disappeared again.  It's a good job I noticed, otherwise I could have lost these files forever.  I can't afford to have my important files just disappearing like that.

    Same problem.  I agree that as a cloud storage solution this is beyond unacceptable.  I am working with MS on this now.  I purchased the business product to protect my data and now I have multiple folder structures with no files in them.  Years of IP gone.  How can a product that clearly has a problem retaining data continue to be on the market??

    Further problems with OneDrive followed from the original post.  It would sit there all day supposedly 'synchronising' the files but getting nowhere.  The giveaway was when it said it was downloading files at 0.0 Mb/sec.  Trial and error showed that the files it was struggling with were Office files that had been password protected.  I'd never had that problem before but suddenly it raised its ugly head.  Microsoft support told me that synchronising password protected Office files only works if one has a subscription to Office 365.  Well, that was news to me!  It had been working fine up until the last Windows update.  If the answer IS true, it slaps all those, like me, in the face that have paid for Office 2016.  I find it dreadful that we get treated with such disdain.

    Same thing happening for me.

    I'm using one drive on 2 windows 10 pcs and a windows server 2016. 

    New one drive folders and files keep deleting. 

    I restore them from the one drive recycle bin, they delete again...

    This has happened to me 3 times with a brand new laptop. Ive sent the lapback twice. Ill do all the updstes and set up One Drive. Then, a few days later, I get a notification from One Drive that hundreds of files, that I didnt delete, were recently deleted from my device. After, the laptop seems to be broken and cant even be restored. Seriously thinking this is a One Drive issue.
