OneDrive automatically deleting files from OneDrive folder

The OneDrive forum appears to have been locked, so I am trying this one.

I moved some large files (photos) to my OneDrive folder to share between PCs and left them synchronising.  When I came back to check on their progress, the files had disappeared from the PCs.  Looking at the OneDrive window it shows them being added to Onedrive then mysteriously being removed a few minutes later.  What on earth is going on?    I tried Ctrl & Z to see if it could undo the removal.  The files looked as if they were being restored - but just disappeared again.  It's a good job I noticed, otherwise I could have lost these files forever.  I can't afford to have my important files just disappearing like that.

Amazing that this has been a known bug for over 2 years now - and a serious one, too, since it's deleting your files without your permission - and MS hasn't fixed it yet.

Further annoyance comes when you elect to restore the files and are then repeatedly alerted that you now have doubles of 10 to 20 files at a time. It goes on until the 1000+ files are restored. I just disengaged OneDrive. The benefit isnt worth the headache for me. Is Microsoft tone deaf?

"All we can do is wait until the Microsoft CEO falls victim to this bug. Only then will it maybe get enough attention."

Rumour has it, he is smart - so uses DropBox instead.

It's now Feb 11 and I've had exactly the same issue. Files I saved last Friday at 7:30 pm were deleted at 10:47pm when I wasn't even logged into a pc? I'm removing all files from OneDrive now as I can't trust it as being reliable until either a fix or reason for the issue occurring is released.

    Poor customer Support Microsoft.

    Same thing happening for me.

I'm using one drive on 2 windows 10 pcs and a windows server 2016.

New one drive folders and files keep deleting.

I restore them from the one drive recycle bin, they delete again...
