Windows File Explorer Not Showing Correct Folder Size If Folder Named 'Applications'

Since installing the 1803 update, Windows File Explorer doesn't display the correct folder size if the folder is named 'Applications'.

There seems to be a bug that if the folder name is 6 characters or more and starts with 'Appli', the folder size shows significantly less than it actually is.  For example if the folder is named 'Apps' or 'Appli', it will display the size correctly.  If however it is named 'Applications' or 'Applix' or 'Appliy', then it won't display correctly.

The Feedback app doesn't work on my computer due to having telemetry settings set to 'Basic', therefore I am reporting the bug here instead.

OS Version:

Windows 10 Pro X64 (17134.1, 1803)

    OK, so some of the old "Un-Installables" can now be removed (Yeah!)

    3D Viewer                    can now  be uninstalled

    Alarms and clocks        still grayed out, stuck with it

    Camera                            "      "

    Game Bar                         "      "

    Groove Music              now un-installable

    Mail and Calendar       can now be uninstalled

    Maps                            grayed out

    Messaging                      "    "

    Mixed Reality              can now be un-installed   (Yeah!!!!)

    I was able to remove many of these (that are not uninstallable directly) with Bulk Crap Uninstaller

    Let the mouse hover over the folder. You'll get the correct size.

    It seems that Microsoft has finally been convinced that they broke the File Explore with the 1803 release. Several weeks ago I was assured by Microsoft that it was fixed in the upcoming 1903 release and it seems to now work as it should, (except for a few bytes and files difference between the 1703 version and the 1903 version, but close enough!). Why it took Microsoft so long to listen and acknowledge their screw up is a mystery and very frustrating! 

    Thanks to all who provided effort in this endeavor!

    I’ve attached three images of how the 1703, 1809 and 1903 File Explorer deals with displaying the properties of the same folder. As you can see it is really different by 157.22 GB and 63,614 Files.

    It looks like 6 files were missing in the 1703 release compared to the 1903. I wonder what was significant about them to be ignored.
