Unfortunately sometimes due to forging ahead, updates are required to restore compatibility with newer operating systems.  I think resisting these updates in the long run will leave you far behind with even more issues, especially security updates!  Definitely make sure your motherboard bios is up to date too...

I agree with u in general.  I've been using & programmung computers since about 1979.  I started mostly in the Unix world, then Mac, then MS.  So i'm no stranger to software & the need (& frequent benefit) of keeping it up to date.  However, i USED to be able to wait a while until updates had received good "report cards" from the public.  And i could select specific  updates NOT to install when i'd heard of suspicious problems with them, until resolved.

Of course, having been a relative perfectionist about my own coding, maybe i'm just tired of the battle with bug-ridden software.   ;-)

AND/BUT... thanks for the reminder about checking the BIOS!  :-)

I've just discovered the same problem.  Used to work, now it doesn't.  :-/

I ran the script ages ago (was it from Win10forums?) that uninstalls all built in win10 apps except "store"

As a result I can no longer open the Feedback Hub, it runs as a proprietary app.

It's a small price to pay for being permanently rid of Photos, TV and Movies, Groove, all their BS apps that only exist to stimulate your addiction centers and grab your cash in a moment of weakness. 

True, I had to install Youcam because Camera was gone, VLC to cover movies and music.

It's not a perfect solution but it's (as I said) a small price to pay.

I'd be willing to give MS a few bucks for this OS, but I'll bet that within a few years they'll start to realize that having access to every move we make and all our "personal data" wasn't all it was cracked up to be, and that all they accomplished was to give away a free OS while receiving virtually nothing of value in return.

Someone mentioned that 1903 fixed the folder size issue, and I also read that 1903 allows the uninstall of Movies&TV and a few other apps. We'll see :)

• Really? Besides that assertion being completely illogical, are you saying that you've gone through the trouble of uninstalling/hiding those applications and creating OS usability problems just because you don't trust that you have enough fortitude to avoid spending "your cash in a moment of weakness"? LOL. Sad. I am curious though wha cash grab the camera and photos apps have. I've never come across anything for sale in those apps.

The tv&movies app is just another source of content (like Netflix, Hulu, Youtube, Redbox, etc) for consumers that like to consume that type of material.

You then go on and install replacement apps (which you could have just installed without all the rigamarole and crippling your system) which do the same thing and I guess would also "stimulate your addiction centers and grab your cash in a moment of weakness". No... this deserves a double facepalm.

-I mean WOW. What else is it supposed to be beside a proprietary app? A commercial app used by Apple and Google and Toms Plumbing? It's a feedback tool for their own software for goodness sake.
