Cannot Change brightness after upgrading to 1803 RTM, previously it was fine .

I had to reset windows because on installing build 17127 , it botched. Even in the botched state it had no brightness control.

Now , I don't have it even after upgrading to 17133 or 1803 rtm . 

I have tried  , installing / uninstalling Intel HD graphics driver ( very old , core i3 first gen PC) 

I have installed/uninstalled Monitors >generic PnP monitor drivers .

(monitor.sys ) is the said driver that allows / disallows F2/F3 brightness hotkey , while brightness never changes. Can you give Monitor.sys from an earlier build such that it can be tested , how do I replace the driver.

    http://www.skytopia.com/software/sunsetscreen/ This tool does not adjust the brightness of the LCD panel. This tool only changes the colors on the desktop. The LCD panel is still at maximum brightness. This is not a solution to the problem

    There is only one solution: Fixing the bug. You can not expect a user of Windows 10 messes about with drivers of other manufacturers, third party tools, etc.

    I totally agree with you, i only found a sollution so i can use my notebook untill the bug is fixed

    Same issue with Acer 3820TG with

    Intel Core i3-370M,

    Intel HD Graphics 1st Gen and AMD Radeon HD5470m

    Driver: 8.15.10.2900

    I have an Acer Aspire 1830TZ with Intel HD graphics driver 8.15.10.2900. Changing brightness with Fn worked pretty good in Win10 Version 1709. After updgrading to Version 1803 that doesn't work.

    Tried many things, such as changing the monitor driver or using the native microsoft graphic driver, didn't change. Tried also another older Intel graphic driver, but got the message, that the driver is not for 64bit, although Intel told it is.

    Curiously the nightmode of Win10 worked with Version 1803, i.e. in Win10 1803 the display colour can be changed, i.e. the driver seems to work. Why not changing the brightness???

    Stepped back to Version 1709 and wait for a soloution.

    If there is time I will try Intel driver 15.28.24.64.4229 from 6/5/2015 or the beta driver 15.40.26.4474 from 6/24/2016. There is also a warning, that the driver might not work, but it seems, that it can be installed. Anyone expericences with that?

    15.28.24.64.4229 from 6/5/2015 or the beta driver 15.40.26.4474 from 6/24/2016

    These drivers will not work with Intel HD Graphics 1 gen
