Cannot Change brightness after upgrading to 1803 RTM, previously it was fine .

I had to reset windows because on installing build 17127 , it botched. Even in the botched state it had no brightness control.

Now , I don't have it even after upgrading to 17133 or 1803 rtm . 

I have tried  , installing / uninstalling Intel HD graphics driver ( very old , core i3 first gen PC) 

I have installed/uninstalled Monitors >generic PnP monitor drivers .

(monitor.sys ) is the said driver that allows / disallows F2/F3 brightness hotkey , while brightness never changes. Can you give Monitor.sys from an earlier build such that it can be tested , how do I replace the driver.

    This fixed the issue for me: 

    For those still encountering this issue, I recommend that you follow these steps and see if the issue persists:

    1. In Windows start search box, type in regedit and hit Enter.
    2. Navigate to the following key:
      • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/ControlSet001/Control/Class/{4d36e968-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318}\0000
    3. Double-click the item of FeatureTestControl, set the hexadecimal value to "fb20", and click OK.
    4. Reboot your computer to reflect the changes.

    I've installed the old Intel Driver: 8.15.10.2253 from Lenovo over the manual instalation "have disk". This worked fine for the Intel Graphics. It's adjustable again.

    After one week of struggle with screen brightness i am done with 1803 so i rolledback to 1709.

    Installed windows update minitool and windows update blocker to manage windows updates myself.

    Laptop display not dimming after Feature update to Windows 10, version 1803

    TOSHIBA Model: Satellite A665-S6050

    I went to Toshiba support and downloaded the last supported display driver (windows 7 64bit).

    Full function of Display control is back along with the Night Light. 

    I will follow up if the fix doesn't stay.  Note it may also have rolled back the sound driver, and power boost.  My sound is working, I don't use power boost.

    Did not restore the function key control.  Using display in settings, or notification quick actions are working.

    Could you reinstall Windows 10 1709 then try upgrading from that to Windows 10 1803?
