I am running Windows 10 on an HP laptop. The last couple of days OneDrive continually says "Signing In" but never gets signed in. It has been fine prior to this. What do I do to correct the problem?

Hi,

I'm Diego Rios, an Independent Advisor willing to help other Microsoft customers.

Please, clear your browsers from cache, temporary files, cookies, etc, Then verified that you place the right credentials and log in to your account. Then follow the procedures in the link below:

  1. Exit OneDrive (right click in the system tray)
  2. Go to Control Panel > User Accounts > Credential Manager
  3. Click on "Windows Credentials" (on the right)
  4. Choose the down arrow to the right of "OneDrive Cached Credential"
  5. Choose Edit, and enter your OneDrive (Microsoft Account) Username/Password.
  6. Go to the start menu, and launch "OneDrive" again

This may restore your OneDrive without resetting your local copy.

Alternatively, simply remove the "OneDrive Cached Credential" (there is an option to do so) and let OneDrive start over. The positive side is IF you wanted to move your OneDrive to another location, you'll have the opportunity to do so during the reset. Either way, you will NOT lose your online data.

Please let me know if this helped and works.

Best Regards,

Diego R.

Recently I've been having the same issue on Win 7, with an Office 365 subscription.

My fix has been to uninstall One Drive and reinstall it.  I've had to do it a couple of times.  After reinstall sign-in works fine for a few days and then stops.

It says I have a personal account and a school and work account, which do I want - but the option for personal account is greyed out.

    There's a bug in the sign-in process.

Agreed I am facing the same issues the work account works fine signing in and syncing well however the personal account which is major bumps. It is just intermittently working but most the times keep on signing in ... I am guessing this is very unstable.

Hi Diego, I tried this method and also resetting the app still won't work. I have 2 accounts OneDrive, one is for my corporate Onedrive and the other one is personal drive (@outlook.com) the problem exists on the 2nd account, the personal one. For the corporate OneDrive account has no sign in issues. Each time after Windows update the personal account signed in and sync however after I switch off my computer and turning back on, the symptoms just resumed and OneDrive keeps on signing in endlessly...Is this bug?

Nothing I do lets me sign in.. each icon still has the blue bubble.. and nothing will cross upload from other devices, each time I log in.. it is successful but that isn't happening.

When I reboot my pc I get this with OneDrive:

It stays like this and anything I do from this point does not resolve the issue unless I uninstall OneDrive, remove Registry entries, and reinstall OneDrive.
