Microsoft is working on a solution with the goal of including it in the next regular monthly update, currently targeted for a release date of May 8, 2018. Update (5/8/18): A solution was included in the May 8th, 2018 cumulative update (KB4103721). Windows Update will automatically download and install the solution. To check for updates now, select the Start button, and then go to Settings > Update & security > Windows Update , and select Check for updates . If your system still experiences performance problems after installing the latest updates, you may be experiencing a different issue. I'm more convinced now that it is a Pagefile problem. As soon as I reset my Pagefile size I have (almost) no problem at all! Just in case you don't know: Control Panel > System > Advanced system settings > Advanced tab > Performance/Settings > Advanced tab/Virtual memory/Change... Well.. That's one way. I'd guess there might be 5 different ways of doing the same thing, as usual. And it is recommended that Pagefile size is set to at least TWICE that of physical RAM. Mine is a minimum of 3x and max of 4x. On the basis of the OP saying If your system still experiences performance problems after installing the latest updates, you may be experiencing a different issue. Hey, Colin. Ran across a handy Microsoft utility in the Windows 10 SDK that you might find useful. It's named 'usbview.exe', which provides a far more user-friendly, and complete, view of your USB controllers, ports, and devices than that provided in the bog standard Device Manager. I say it might be useful because unlike my Device Manager view of the USB environment, this utility informs me I have a 'General Failure' on a port on my USB 3.0 host controller. The port does not correspond to any piece of hardware I have plugged into my workstation or USB hub, but it's a possible lead for me. I have only the vaguest notion about Event Viewer, tho sometimes support personnel on MS Forums did refer to it.

I only just noticed that the OP says
