White bar covering top portion of Windows Explorer on Windows 10

Hi, I have 2 users that have suffered from this problem. Windows Explorer displays a white bar at the top and doesn't display correctly. A reboot solves the issue, restarting the process does not. You can interact with the area where the white bar is, it simply doesn't display correctly. Moving the window around, the white bar only shows in Windows Explorer, no other apps. Both are using HP desktops but completely different models, one is an HP ProDesk 400 G3 Mini the other a HP Z240 Tower Workstation. I uninstalled/reinstalled the latest driver for each computer from the HP website with no success. The issue is random and intermittent. Any suggestions?

hi guys,

i have the same problems, and right now it fixed.

this is what i do :

  1. go to NVIDIA Control Panel (right click on windows screen)
  2. go to display - change resolution
  3. change the screen resolution to any resolution(for both screen)
  4. apply and then change again into any resolution that you want.

im not sure with the problems, but when i do the step above it fixed mine.

Hello everyone, first time posting here but since this problem was a big deal in my workplace, i wanted to share with you this fix that i've found on reddit.

I've been looking for a solution on this problem for quit a long time now and i've finally found a way to solve this issue instantly. It worked for the 2-3 PC's that had the problem in my company. Hope it will help you :

  • Right click desktop,
  • Go to Intel HD Graphics settings
  • Select Display
  • Then choose the option Scale Full Screen.
  • Make sure the option Override Application Settings has the checkbox marked.

    Try to go to settings, and changing the orientation to portrait and back to normal. I tried it and it worked for me and I hope it does for you.

    So I am also seeing this issue in our environment. Tried everything everyone has mentioned. Maybe we should all just keep bumping this thread multiple times a day until Microsoft actually takes notice. Better yet maybe we should all create our own threads on the issue so there is a flood of the same exact problem. We somehow need to get MS on this since it seems they don't care right now. I feel like dual monitors should be a priority to fix since they have been in use for what 15 years now.

    This problem also affect us. So far we've tried to change the Intel graphic parameters, works for a few days, then the problem come back.

    We just got tired of it on a critical machine and replaced our HP machine with a Lenovo machine with discreet graphic card, within days the problem came back.

    Users sadly think we are incompetent as we can't fix something that seems so simple, I wish MS would get involved. We have 4 out of about 200 users who have the problem right now. NOBODY with that problem have any component, monitor, etc that is not exactly the same as other computers in the place. I rule out anything Hardware right away.

    On Intel integrated cards I raised the VRAM to see if it could be a lack of video memory, minutes after rebooting it came back. 

    This is keeping us 3 techs in the company wasting half our time for 4 users who have that problem...

    No solution have worked so far.

    MICROSOFT???
