Windows Media Player with wrong Find Album Info link

My Computer just did the latest update then all of a sudden whenever I go into Windows Media Player and go into Find Album Info the Find Album Info Cache link is musicmatch-ssl.xboxlive.com instead of the usual fai.music.metaservices.microsoft.com, Can anyone please help me change back to fai.music.metaservices.microsoft.com I got a lot of Albums with the wrong information and I need fai.music.metaservices.microsoft.com in order to sort everything out.

It's amazing that Microsoft hasn't fixed this. It's a bug that they seemed to have ignored. I found the fix on a different site and it's relatively simple, but you must edit the registry as follows:

  1.  Start regedit.exe

  2.  Navigate to

      "Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\TunerConfig"

  3.  Look for setting PREFERREDMETADATAPROVIDER -- it should have a value of "pmpMusicMatch"

  4.  Edit the setting PREFERREDMETADATAPROVIDER, and clear the value so you have a blank value

  5.  Save / exit regedit.exe

  6.  Restart Windows Media Player, you should be restored back to   fai.music.metaservices.microsoft.com

    Said this before but I'll say it again. For me, it doesn't always happen. I dont know why it does work when it does, but when it does it lets me rip cd's as normal. Then perhaps if i shut my pc off and back on another time it will stop working. 

    The other day i bought 2 cd's. I popped in a cd to rip and it didnt work. So i thought, let me try the other cd. I popped in the other cd, and boom it worked.

    So i dont know what happened as I didnt do anything differently.

    I will explain step by step

    First option:

    Step 1: 

    The first step is to open the link that I sent:

    Step 2: when the link is opened you have to wait for it to load a few seconds. 

    After that, it will show a page where a tab "Open comments center?" , then they say "open comment center"

    Step 3: Wait for the application to load from W10 ...

    After that, my suggestion should be opened, and when they see it, the number of votes will appear, and next to it, "vote for" appears in blue.

    (In my case it is gray, because I already voted).

    But to you, those who have not voted will appear in blue, then oppress where it comes out "vote for"

    I find this problem incredible, I really can not believe it, the other day I saw an article that 90%, who had a Microsoft operating system use Windows Media Player

    I agree with E.C.P, if more people were to express their dissapointment with Microsoft's decision to stop support for their perfectly fine media player directly to the company we might see some movement in reconsidering this decision. Thank you for all those who have written their polite but firm comments through this format.

    Gene_918 I tried to use this fix but unfortunately I couldn't navigate as far as TunerConfig because the option does not appear. 

    It's a tricky situation because at first my PC seemed to work well with musicmatch-ssl.xboxlive.com but due to technical difficulties beyond my knowledge I was forced to reset my PC. After doing so I discovered the find album info link had changed to fai.music.metaservices.microsoft.com, and whenever I used it it wasn't working. My question do you or anyone who might have an idea know how I can get back to using musicmatch-ssl.xboxlive.com?

    Would appreciate any feedback, thank you.
