Neuro-programmer 3.exe - .Net Famework Initialization Error

please set registry key HKLM\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT.NET FRAMEWORK\ install root to point to the .NET Framework Install location

Can anyone help me resolve this error- I installed this program for the first time on to my windows 10 x64 brand new laptop and it is supposed to be compatible with windows 10 - when I try to open it I get the above error. i had to use revo to uninstall

  • should I try to fix this before I re install or should I reinstall first and fix later.

Any idea how to fix this - I have never edited a registry and am kind of nervous to do so- I need this computer to make a living and don't want to mess it up- took me weeks to get it set up in the first place so don't want to have to do a wipe and restore.

I hope I posted this in the right category

Thanks so much any help will be greatly appreciated

Michelle

    That's great!

I have the Virtual Box, though the snag is that I do not know where (if) I have a copy of Win7 around.

If I had a WIN7/8 etc. disc around, could I just put this into my DVD drive and it would somehow boot off it?

Does Microsoft have a url where you could download old versions of Windows?

This would be a very handy service for these sorts of occasions.

Hmm, Microsoft has the ISO for Win7, though they want a product key.

I think I have the ISO for Win8, though the Virtual Box does not seem to include this option.

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/software-download/windows7

There are other urls online that offer a free Win7 download, though I am somewhat unsure of them.

FWIW: I got this working using Parallels and an old copy of Windows 8.1. I already had Parallels installed on my Mac to run Win 10, so I just added a new virtual machine for version 8.1 (for which I had an old license key).

It still seems so ridiculous that I have to install and run an entire Operating System just get this one application to work.

Exactly! However, we are ingenious on this end, and I am back up on the platform. I used the virtual program VM player 14, which is free, but I had to purchase and ISO for Windows 7 pro with a product key included ($14) However, I invested time I can never get back, and had to go through all this hassle because the company failed us. I was going to cancel my Brain.fm out of protest, but remembered I purchased the lifetime membership when it was down to $50. I will never patronize them again, and if anyone needs assistance with the virtual software I used please contact. Thanks all.

I agree. I cannot believe the software will not be supported. My oldest laptop still runs win 7 but when it dies I will no longer have access to the program. I feel ripped off.
