I believe that this software has officially become "abandonware."
I believe this because brain.fm continues to work and continues to be updated with new music. They have people working there.
As you mentioned fixing neuroprogrammer and mindworkstation would be a simple programming fix, but I don't think they intend to fix the issues.
I wonder if they would be open to transferring any kind of licenses, etc. to those willing to maintain the software.
Anything would be better than just leaving it broken like they seem to have decided to do.
