Your PIN is no longer available

I am unable to login into my computer (windows 10). I get the message “your pin is no longer available due to a change the security settings on this device. You can set up your pin again by going to settings/accounts/siding options.”  There are no other options for signing in. Does anyone know what to do to login?

Same here, ended up having to hold down Shift key as I clicked Restart from the power icon in corner of log in screen.  Then selected Reset PC/keep personal files.

starting from april 1st 2020, i got this problem where my PIN disappeared, which makes me unable to login to my laptop with fingerprint, but im able to login with password. after logging in, my laptop suddenly loads slowly, where usually it loads fast. my desktop takes a long time to load. the same goes for my windows explorer, which takes long to open, and refresh. once loaded though, it works normally until i clicked an option from the rightclick menu, where it loads slowly again, and i must leave the pc alone for it to do the command. if i click on the screen, it will turn pale (not responding) and eventually restart windows explorer. same goes if i click too many times on my desktop when its not fully loaded. the next thing i did was try to renew my PIN. remove or reset PIN wasnt an option, the option was only to add PIN. when i click add PIN, it opens a window and i have to enter my password. after entering the password, then i have to enter either my old PIN or fingerprint, and after either one, it will say that my pc cant add a PIN. i tried deleting the contents of NGC folder, and it changed the PIN making process by making the enter new PIN window available, but after entering it, it will say the same thing that my PC cant make a new PIN.

Same thing happened to me after I did an update today. Had to restore everything without deleting files. Hope it works. It wouldn't sign in with pin, and the password wouldn't work (I'm sure that was the right password).

Just lost a whole day worth of work on something so basic.

An update should not cause this.

Same problem here: just got a Surface laptop (replacement), waited 2 hours for it to install updates and then couldn't log in anymore. It's scary that the entire hardware-software chain is Microsoft and still doesn't work. I mean, how hard can it be, especially since people have been complaining about this A LOT!
