Your PIN is no longer available

I have the same problem.  There is no option to login with a password.  It seems this is a Windows S feature that removes password login with you use Windows Hello (PIN and/or facial recognition).  I have no way to login to the computer. Facial recognition says I need to use PIN.  PIN doesn't work with error stated above.

Same here, ended up having to hold down Shift key as I clicked Restart from the power icon in corner of log in screen.  Then selected Reset PC/keep personal files.  

Seems like the answer is obvious, but asking anyway to be certain:

Does the shift +restart method delete your settings (Wi-Fi passwords, installed apps, etc.) or are all these considered "personal files?

Discovered this approach is a slightly modified FRESH INSTALL OF WINDOWS 10 (but perhaps many files in your USER folder. Definitely a last resort. 

I'm 100% unable to login as well. Sometimes it allows me to enter a PIN (rarely) but it's not recognizing/accepting the actual 4-digit PIN. I also tried my Outlook.com password, which doesn't work either. 

Impossible to make any changes to files... Maybe I can find a hack to bypass the startup security screen? 

Only problem is that will probably have some virus/Trojan horse and I'll go from bad to worse!!

You have to long press the SHIFT Key and then select RESTART. 

It will take you to the settings over there select RESTART. 

You will get a Safe boot window and then you can able to log in. 

Once logged into the pc Windows + R key = Type MSCONFIG 

Goto the Boot and Uncheck the Safe Boot box. Again click the GENERAL and select Normal Start Up. 

And now Restart the PC. You are set to go.

Why is my PIN required when I'm using BIOMETRIC security?

This effectively locked me out of a computer I own.

Ugh.

Windows applied an update, and I believe this to be the cause.

I fixed this issue by simply removing the pin and then setting up a new one

Unfortunately, that didn't fix it for me.
