The newest build of System Mechanic - version 18.02.486 -- released in mid-October 2018 finally puts an end to this most irritating problem.
It appears to be safe to use System Mechanic again.

For days I've been getting this popup window on my Windows 10 Build 1803 computer:
"The program or a background process quit unexpectedly. Would you like to send information to a developer?"
It occurs intermittently, often every 5-10 minutes, and is EXTREMELY annoying. When I click on it, it disappears with no results but keeps reappearing. I cannot figure out what program is causing this as all programs I use are accounted for. The machine has been scanned several times and there is no sign of virus or malware. There have been no new programs installed and Windows and all drivers are current. It's a total loss to me what this is.
Anyone have any idea?

2018-08-29T11:50:14+00:00 I believe this has been happening since the last Windows (10) update. Hopefully, someone can figure out what is causing it and can create a fix for it because it is definitely very annoying.

Support from System Mechanic said to follow these steps:
Open System Mechanic Professional
Click on the Settings or the gear like icon located at the upper right corner
Go to Active Care and expand the settings
Go under Exceptions
Put a check mark on "Do not run between"
Set the time wherein the software will not run.
However, this is not a real solution - I run my PC and Laptop 24 hours but goes into sleep mode. I boot maybe once a week.

2018-08-25T22:09:00+00:00 I'll have to look into that,cathycaz. I never noticed it popping up but I wasn't looking either. I am thinking of uninstalling Iolo and seeing if that helps.
Ironically, as quickly as it started, it has stopped. So, I'll wait and see if it returns. I'm sure it will since it always does.
