My PC is working really normal before update. After I update my windows 10 the system show this message.
C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop is unavailable. If the location is on this PC, make sure the device or drive is connected or the disc is inserted, and then try again. If the location is on a network, make sure you're connected to the network or internet, and then try again. If the location still can't be found, it might have been moved or deleted. - OK
Then I click ok after that I only see recycle bin and task bar, which can not do anything background is black, so I restart by using ctrl+alt+delete and run safe mode(safe mode with network).
In safe mode it has no This PC it just has recycle bin and some program and I can't open any file location of any program after that I turn off my pc for 30 sec then open it the result is
C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop is not accessible
Access is denied. -OK
Only recycle bin and task bar and black background again.
I have no idea to fix this problem any more. Please I really need some help. THANK YOU. My English is not professional I hope you understand my message.

Open Windows File Explorer
On the View Ribbon, check the box marked 'Hidden Items'
C:\users\Default\
Right click and copy the Desktop folder contained in the Default Folder
Navigate to: C:\Windows\system32\config\systemprofile
Right click and Paste the Desktop folder into the systemprofile folder
Restart (not shut sown) your PC

I had the same problem with my Surface 3 and could not do anything with it.
I was able to restart my tablet using the "Power on/Click Restart Button" and then recovered my PC and kept my files and folders.
I found the help to do this by researching on the web.
It took about a hour for the surface to reload windows and come back up, but when it did, I had all of my files and folders.
I am just reinstalling the apps that it wiped out, but installing apps is better than having to reload the tablet completely.
I hope that this helps, this is extremely frustrating as there is no warning, one minute my Surface was working and the next time I turned it on..................
i actually used AVG on my work laptop and its still not working (i havent tried the using a usb stick)
Hello all,
Found that deleting the Avast anti-virus brought everything back. What's crazy is that Avast was working so well up to that point. Guess I'm going back to AVG. Never had problems with that!
