My PC is working really normal before update. After I update my windows 10 the system show this message.

C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop is unavailable. If the location is on this PC, make sure the device or drive is connected or the disc is inserted, and then try again. If the location is on a network, make sure you're connected to the network or internet, and then try again. If the location still can't be found, it might have been moved or deleted. - OK

Then I click ok after that I only see recycle bin and task bar, which can not do anything background is black, so I restart by using ctrl+alt+delete and run safe mode(safe mode with network).

In safe mode it has no This PC it just has recycle bin and some program and I can't open any file location of any program after that I turn off my pc for 30 sec then open it the result is

C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop is not accessible

Access is denied. -OK

Only recycle bin and task bar and black background again.

I have no idea to fix this problem any more. Please I really need some help. THANK YOU. My English is not professional I hope you understand my message.

Hi Thirut,

Open Windows File Explorer

On the View Ribbon, check the box marked 'Hidden Items'

C:\users\Default\

Right click and copy the Desktop folder contained in the Default Folder

Navigate to: C:\Windows\system32\config\systemprofile

Right click and Paste the Desktop folder into the systemprofile folder

Restart (not shut sown) your PC

Hi! I followed your steps. And I was already in the windows installation part when it stopped and a pop-up appeared saying “Windows Installation Failed”. I do not know what to do now. I tried doing the process all over again (I opened setup.exe) but it like started downloading windows all over again. Is there anyway for me to skip the downloading part and just install the windows I downloaded from my earlier installation attempt?

Thanks very much. Hoping for a response. My life is in that laptop.

    😢

Hey guys! I just had this problem and my boyfriend told me to HOLD F2 down after restarting the computer! As soon as you restart it, HOLD F2! It’ll bring you to a screen saying one step recovery I believe. Hit that option and then hit the option saying remove current data! It took mines about 10 minutes, when its done hit done & reboot! It will be like a brand new computer to set up again!

When you say "remove data" does that mean wipe out your hard drive?
