My PC is working really normal before update. After I update my windows 10 the system show this message.
C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop is unavailable. If the location is on this PC, make sure the device or drive is connected or the disc is inserted, and then try again. If the location is on a network, make sure you're connected to the network or internet, and then try again. If the location still can't be found, it might have been moved or deleted. - OK
Then I click ok after that I only see recycle bin and task bar, which can not do anything background is black, so I restart by using ctrl+alt+delete and run safe mode(safe mode with network).
In safe mode it has no This PC it just has recycle bin and some program and I can't open any file location of any program after that I turn off my pc for 30 sec then open it the result is
C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop is not accessible
Access is denied. -OK
Only recycle bin and task bar and black background again.
I have no idea to fix this problem any more. Please I really need some help. THANK YOU. My English is not professional I hope you understand my message.

Open Windows File Explorer
On the View Ribbon, check the box marked 'Hidden Items'
C:\users\Default\
Right click and copy the Desktop folder contained in the Default Folder
Navigate to: C:\Windows\system32\config\systemprofile
Right click and Paste the Desktop folder into the systemprofile folder
Restart (not shut sown) your PC

Every feature update since the launch of 10 has resulted in massive install and system problems. The only way this will ever change is by regulation similar to pharmaceutical and food companies. Testing before release. BUT. Not going to happen.
I use this PC only for CCTV, so it's not my main computer, but I've spent a few weeks messing about with this off and on, trying to get it booting properly again.
None of the solutions posted worked for me.... ie, C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile didn't even exist, and booting from Windows installer USB and asking it to repair did not fix things either.
I'm a software engineer and I developed for Windows for many years, so if I cant fix it, then how a typical home user is supposed to fix this crap is beyond me.
In the end I just gave up, reformatted the whole thing, and then reinstalled Windows from scratch.
I'm so annoyed by how much time I wasted on this, all because of a stupid Windows Update. No doubt it will happen again when it grabs the same update that screwed things in the first place.
Windows 10 is seriously a FPOS. Screw you Microsoft.
I managed to get past this problem by hitting "Control/alt/delete" and selecting task manager and then selecting "file" then "run new task" and then "browse". This activated the entire computer file system. When I searched for the desktop files the folder was empty. (And so were several other folders empty). Luckily I had a backup in my file system which I selected and activated. Once the backup had finished installing. I turned off the computer at the power (hard) switch. When I turned it back on my old version of windows reinstalled itself and the computer works fine again. Only wasted about 4 hours of my time. Pity we can not charge microsoft for our time and lost income.
