My PC is working really normal before update. After I update my windows 10 the system show this message.
C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop is unavailable. If the location is on this PC, make sure the device or drive is connected or the disc is inserted, and then try again. If the location is on a network, make sure you're connected to the network or internet, and then try again. If the location still can't be found, it might have been moved or deleted. - OK
Then I click ok after that I only see recycle bin and task bar, which can not do anything background is black, so I restart by using ctrl+alt+delete and run safe mode(safe mode with network).
In safe mode it has no This PC it just has recycle bin and some program and I can't open any file location of any program after that I turn off my pc for 30 sec then open it the result is
C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop is not accessible
Access is denied. -OK
Only recycle bin and task bar and black background again.

Open Windows File Explorer
On the View Ribbon, check the box marked 'Hidden Items'
C:\users\Default\
Right click and copy the Desktop folder contained in the Default Folder
Navigate to: C:\Windows\system32\config\systemprofile
Right click and Paste the Desktop folder into the systemprofile folder
Restart (not shut sown) your PC
Hi did you ever solve this issue as im having the same one.
Not picking up a network connection or anything.
A friend of mine had the same problem. I followed this procedure to solve it. Basically it is generating a recovery USB drive from which Windows will be reinstalled, while keeping your files and applications. You'll need a 8GB empty USB drive for this.
Side notes:
Before I started I wanted to make sure to back up all the data.
By pressing "windows+R" either "cmd" or "powershell" can be started. I used the "xcopy" command to back up all the data on an external hard drive.
I just found out that using "ii ." in Powershell might have started the file explorer, something you might want to try.
When I mounted my external USB harddrive I got the message it was write protected, to unlock the drive, you can follow this procedure.
To make sure you will download the correct version (32-bit or 64-bit) you can use the command below in powershell to check what version you need:
"Get-CimInstance Win32_OperatingSystem | Select-Object Caption, OSArchitecture | FL"
So I use both a Mac and a Windows PC regularly, daily actually, and it is true that I've never had an issue like this where an update has effectively rendered my computer useless until I follow some complicated steps as kindly posted in this thread by other users.
Having said that, I have noticed a slight decline in standards from Apple though in recent years, the most recent MacBook Pro with the Touch Bar is a disappointment in my opinion, the touch bar seems like something that ought to open up some possibilities, but the lack of tactile feedback prior to pressing one of the touch keys means I'm forever pressing things I don't mean to.
Worse, there is a class action thing going on with the latest keyboard, keys simply stop working due to bad design that allows dirt to easily get underneath. I encounter this myself and it's awful for a premium laptop.
Overall I do prefer using macOS but it all depends on what you need it for doesn't it?
A friend of mine brought her HP Windows 10 laptop over with the same issue. I've worked in the IT department with our local county for years and I knew it was the results of a Windows update. Honestly, Microsoft needs to get their **** together. But I am here to tell all you users out there that I have the perfect solution. Do yourself a favor and go buy yourself a Mac. I've owned my Macbook Pro for over four years and I've never had any issues. I was a Windows user for many years and on average I was having to replace my PC's and laptops every two years. I replaced my Windows PC with an iMac and my Lenova laptop with a Macbook Pro and of course the iPad Pro which I love. Yes, they are more expensive but you end up saving money in the end because you're not having to replace hardware and software you end up repairing or losing after updates. Microsoft needs to up their game. At the moment most government agencies and companies go with Windows machines because honestly it's cheaper but I'm beginning to hear grumbling within my county and the tides will eventually turn.
