My PC is working really normal before update. After I update my windows 10 the system show this message.

C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop is unavailable. If the location is on this PC, make sure the device or drive is connected or the disc is inserted, and then try again. If the location is on a network, make sure you're connected to the network or internet, and then try again. If the location still can't be found, it might have been moved or deleted. - OK

Then I click ok after that I only see recycle bin and task bar, which can not do anything background is black, so I restart by using ctrl+alt+delete and run safe mode(safe mode with network).

In safe mode it has no This PC it just has recycle bin and some program and I can't open any file location of any program after that I turn off my pc for 30 sec then open it the result is

C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop is not accessible

Access is denied. -OK

Only recycle bin and task bar and black background again.

I have no idea to fix this problem any more. Please I really need some help. THANK YOU. My English is not professional I hope you understand my message.

Hi Thirut,

Open Windows File Explorer

On the View Ribbon, check the box marked 'Hidden Items'

C:\users\Default\

Right click and copy the Desktop folder contained in the Default Folder

Navigate to: C:\Windows\system32\config\systemprofile

Right click and Paste the Desktop folder into the systemprofile folder

Restart (not shut sown) your PC

I am at the end of my tether. I have had help from an IT person I know and he has struggled to make anything work, even after following all the detailed instructions given on this forum. In desperation I now have a clean install of Windows 10 which has updated ok to v1803. Now, though, I have to reinstall all my data and programmes. What a pain. I am furious with Microsoft and do not understand why there is not more publicity about these issues. Our PCs are not fit for purpose if they don't work after compulsory updates. If this happens again it will be goodbye to Microsoft from me.

THIS WORKED PERFECTLY ON 4 COMPUTERS SIMULTANEOUSLY.

These steps worked perfectly for me.

    https://www.yourwindowsguide.com/2018/05/solution-broken-windows-10-computer-after-april-update.html

Activate and run under the built in Administrator for Windows. Click Here to learn how to activate from Command Line.

If you have the black screen and cannot get the Command Prompt. Press, Ctrl + Alt + Delete > select Task Manager > Select the "File" tab > Select "Run New Task" > check the box for Administrative privileges > type "CMD" > press "Enter". Then follow steps under the Click Here link.

DO NOT skip updates when performing the repair.

    Thank you.

AVG Removal Tool does not work correct.

    Use AVG Clear instead.

AVG Removal Tool does not work properly.

They have an other tool called "AVG Clear" and this works well.

As a computer technician, i only can say that scanners like AVG and Avast are giving problems on Windows 10 systems.

They frequently overload harddisks and freezes screens.

I do not install this scanners anymore. My own computers have Panda installed and they work fine.
