My PC is working really normal before update. After I update my windows 10 the system show this message.

C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop is unavailable. If the location is on this PC, make sure the device or drive is connected or the disc is inserted, and then try again. If the location is on a network, make sure you're connected to the network or internet, and then try again. If the location still can't be found, it might have been moved or deleted. - OK

Then I click ok after that I only see recycle bin and task bar, which can not do anything background is black, so I restart by using ctrl+alt+delete and run safe mode(safe mode with network).

In safe mode it has no This PC it just has recycle bin and some program and I can't open any file location of any program after that I turn off my pc for 30 sec then open it the result is

C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop is not accessible

Access is denied. -OK

Only recycle bin and task bar and black background again.

I have no idea to fix this problem any more. Please I really need some help. THANK YOU. My English is not professional I hope you understand my message.

Hi Thirut,

Open Windows File Explorer

On the View Ribbon, check the box marked 'Hidden Items'

C:\users\Default\

Right click and copy the Desktop folder contained in the Default Folder

Navigate to: C:\Windows\system32\config\systemprofile

Right click and Paste the Desktop folder into the systemprofile folder

Restart (not shut sown) your PC

Thanks for the instruction. Laptop up and running again.

You should get paid by microsoft for resolving their mess.

Can you imagine how many companies are down? Imagine just how many people are severly affected by the negligence of the development team associated with this Unsolicited / Mandatory update. I use my laptop for business as a Consultant for a multinational defense contracting manufacturing firm. I back up my hard drive each month. I have essentially lost this months work as I experienced the crash two days ago. And yet, there is no official statement from Microsoft. I am livid. I am in contact with the Texas State Attorney Generals Consumer Division. Am expecting a follow up from their offices on Monday. This is criminal in my opinion. Had it been optional and came with instructions or even a recommendation to back up my computer I would feel different.

Incidentally, I only have Defender so it isn't the antivirus programme causing problems.
